#Constitution Bench: Verdict on same-sex marriage by Supreme Court Today

The Supreme Court will announce its verdict on whether same-sex marriage can be given legal recognition on Tuesday.

The Supreme Court will deliver on Tuesday its verdict on whether same-sex marriages should be legally recognised in India [Supriyo and anr v. Union of India].

A Constitution Bench led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud and comprising Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul, S Ravindra Bhat, Hima Kohli and PS Narasimha had reserved the verdict on May 11 this year, after a ten-day hearing.

#India's Partition 'historical Mistake', Should Never Have Happened, Says Asaduddin Owaisi

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday said the partition of India should never have happened and called it a 'historical mistake.'

Addressing a press conference, the Hyderabad Lok Sabha MP said historically, this was one country and unfortunately, it was divided, which should not have happened.

"Historically, this was one country and unfortunately it was divided. It should not have happened. This is what I can say. But if you want, arrange a debate and I will tell you who is responsible for division of this country… I can not give a one-line answer for a historical mistake that was committed at that time," he told reporters.

#Supreme Court Rejects Woman's Plea For Termination: 26-Week Pregnancy Case

The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a woman’s plea to terminate her over 26-week pregnancy on account of her illness. “Medical termination of pregnancy cannot be allowed,” CJI DY Chandrachud said while delivering the verdict.

“The State is directed to bear all medical costs. The court has clarified that it is up to the mother to give up the child for adoption or not,” CJI further said.

#Karnataka: Political Row Erupts Between Congress And BJP Over IT Raids Recovery of ₹50 Crore Cash

The recent recovery of ₹50 crore of unidentified cash in IT raids has become the centre of a political row erupted between Congress and BJP in Karnataka. 

Soon after IT raids recovery on Sunday, BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateeel claimed links between ruling Congress and the recovered money. Soon after his allegations, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah denied the claims and called them baseless.
