Monsoon Just A Few Days Away From Delhi, Neighbouring Areas

New Delhi: Monsoon is expected to hit Delhi and its neighbouring areas and over parts of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh in the next two to three days.The Indian Meteorological Department, IMD, has also warned of very heavy rain at isolated places over Konkan and Goa.

During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rains along with isolated heavy falls was observed over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with upper air cyclonic circulation over north Odisha and neighbourhood.

Deswal wins event gold in junior world shooting championship

New Delhi:India's Yashaswini Singh Deswal has won a gold at the women's 10 metre air pistol event in the ISSF Junior World Championship. In the event being held in Suhl, Germany, yesterday her medal consolidated India's second position in the medals tally at the end of Day Two, with two gold, one silver and one bronze. China tops the standings.

Mosul, the IS stronghold, almost captured by Iraqi forces

New Delhi:Government forces in Iraq pushed deeper into Mosul in their fight to retake it from Islamic State terrorists. Lieutenant Colonel Salam al-Obeidi said, there is less than a square kilometer left to retake.
He also estimated that there were only a few hundred Islamic State terrorists left in the city. Iraqi troops have led the fight to retake Mosul, held by the militants since 2014, with US led international coalition providing air and ground support.

Haryana CM announces health insurance for poor, paid for by govt

New Delhi: Haryana government will implement a health insurance scheme in the state to provide free health services to the poor. The state government will bear the cost of the premium.

Chief Minister ManoharLal said this after inaugurating a medical college and hospital at Mohri village in Kurukshetra district. He said the state government is establishing medical colleges in every district to meet the shortage of doctors in government hospitals.
