Assam Minister sets target for building 9000 km of roads in one year

New Delhi:The Assam government will construct 9000 kilometre of roads under PradhanMantri Gram SadakYojana in the next one year. Assam PWD and Excise minister ParimalSuklaBaidya said at a Radio interview that 720 new bridges will be constructed and another 1000 wooden bridges will be converted to reinforced concrete or RCC during this period. 

The minister further said that 2500 kilometres road have been constructed in the state during last one year. On Excise department, he said that 1000 crore rupees have been earned by his department during last one year which was 250 crore rupees more than the previous year. 
Baidya said that to bring complete transparency, everything has been made online in Excise department. Baidya who is also holding the portfolio of Fishery department said that Assam will be made self-sufficient in fish production within next four years.
