Delhi Govt development schemes under scanner, Niti Aayog seeks monthly report

New Delhi: At least 30 development schemes being run by Delhi government for the past two years are now under direct monitoring of the Union Home Secretary. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) recently reviewed the progress of development projects of all union territories and decided that the Home Secretary as well as the CEO of Niti Aayog will review all these projects on monthly basis. Soon after PMO’s review meeting, Niti Ayog sent a missive to the Chief Secretary Dr M M Kutty asking for monthly progress report.

Opposition Responds To Govt Move on Prez Nominee; Sonia, YechuryTo Meet Ministerial Panel On Friday

New Delhi: The Opposition on Wednesday decided to hear the Government proposal on getting consensus of candidate for presidential poll.The three-member committee of BJP will meet Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday to hold consultation on presidential elections. The committee will also meet CPI(M) General Secretary SitaramYechury on the same day over the issue.
The Opposition took the decision at its meeting on Wednesday after Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu, who is one of the members of the committee, spoke to BSP leader Satish Chandra Mishra and Praful Patel of NCP to evolve a broad consensus on presidential nominee.

Four Die In Guwahati As Floods Affect Several Districts OfAssam

New Delhi: Over 13000 people have been affected due to flood and landslides in Kamrup Metro, Darrang, Lakhimpur and Hailakandi districts of Assam. State Disaster Response Force evacuated 500 people in Guwahati city. Four persons have died in rain related incidents in Guwahati. 

District administration has set up one relief camp at Rajgarh in Guwahati for 130 people and relief materials are also being distributed. Landslides have also been reported in Guwahati. There was also breach of river embankments in a few places in the state.

New Delhi:The after absconding liquor baron Vijay Mallya managed to get bail in the extradition case from a court in London, theEnforcement Directorate filed its first chargesheet against Vijay Mallya and others in the IDBI Bank loan default case. The 57-page chargesheet along with voluminous annexures was filed before a special court in Mumbai on Wednesday. The British court had made observations on the slow pace of probe against Mallya.
