New Delhi: Army Chief General Bipin Rawat on Tuesday exhorted students of Jammu and Kashmir to choose laptops and books to help end the cycle of violence.
Addressing a group of Kashmiri students who were supported by the Army and have cleared the IIT entrance examination, he said their success was not an easy and they have now become a shining example for the youth in the Valley.
“Army’s Super 40 initiatives broke all previous records when 26 boys and two girls from the State cracked the IIT-JEE Mains Exam, 2017,” the Army said in a statement.
He also asked students to return to their area after they complete their studies and help in the development of the state. Recently 19 gentlemen cadets from the Valley were commissioned as officers in Indian Army from the Indian Military Academy. The Army has started several initiatives to induct the Kashmiri youth into the national mainstream.
