New Zealand registered an innings and 58-run victory over Sri Lanka in the second and final Test to sweep the series 2-0 as the tourists’ resistance finally broke late on day four, here on Monday.

Having been asked to follow-on, Sri Lanka needed 416 runs to make the hosts bat again but were bowled out for 358 in their second innings.

The win seemed beyond Sri Lanka when they resumed on 2-113 in the morning session but there was some hope they might bat out the day and even save the match with the help of heavy rain forecast on day five.

Australia have defeated India by 10 wickets in the 2nd ODI at the YSR Stadium, Vishakhapatnam. The guests dominated the Indian side in every aspect of the game.

The Indian batters shattered like a pack of cards in the face of the Australian bowling attack. Mitchell Starc bowled a phenomenal spell, completed his nine-wicket haul, and dashed to the top of the batting order of the strong-looking Indian side.

He came in at a precarious situation when India were struggling after being three wickets down for just 16 on the board in the 5th over, chasing 189 to win. India lost two more wickets but Rahul continued to bat well and took his own sweet time to settle down. Ravindra Jadeja arrived and he too batted with calmness, stroking 45 off 69 deliveries. Rahul-Jadeja unbeaten stand for the sixth wicket eventually powered India to the win as they also took 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Aaron Rodgers intends to play for the New York Jets. The New York newspapers intend to cover big, interesting stories the same way they always do.

Both the New York Post and the New York Daily News have devoted full-page images to the news that Rodgers wants to play for one of the hometown (sort of) teams.

The Post went with a front-page Top Gun parody, giving the new (eventually) Jets quarterback the “Mr. Rodgers” call sign. The Daily News went the vaccination route, choosing the headline “A Real Shot in the Arm.”

The inaugural season of the WPL 2023 hasn’t fared well for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB-W) so far; they have lost all of the five matches that they have played this season thus far as their woes continue in both the batting and bowling departments.

UP Warriorz (UP-W), on the other hand, are having a better season as compared to their opponents. Out of the four matches they have played, they have managed to win two and lost two to Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians.
