With months left for the much-awaited 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress is actively engaging in discussions for seat-sharing arrangements in both Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

The grand old party has now put forth ambitious proposals for each state, aiming for significant representation in the upcoming elections, sources told a media house.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Congress is gearing up for a robust electoral strategy by pitching for 40 of 80 Lok Sabha seats. In Bihar, Congress is eyeing an ambitious goal of contesting 10 to 12 seats, in a state with 40 Lok Sabha constituencies.

According to a report from Indiaglitz Tamil, in that petition, it has been reportedly mentioned that the movie 'Leo' contains scenes of riots, illegal activities, driving cars and two-wheelers at high speed, and crimes that can be committed with the help of the police, and those scenes are claimed to be driving society in the wrong direction.

Japan earthquake: Search for survivors enters day 4, toll rises to 73

The death toll from a series of powerful earthquakes in Japan on New Year's Day rose to 73 on Thursday, as the search for survivors under collapsed buildings continued for the fourth day.

The earthquakes, including a powerful one with a magnitude of 7.5, jolted the Noto Peninsula in the central prefecture of Ishikawa, causing buildings to collapse and tsunami warnings to be sent as far away as eastern Russia.

Divya Pahuja, murdered in Gurugram hotel, was out on bail in 'fake' encounter case

Former model Divya Pahuja was incarcerated for seven years in connection with a case related to the alleged fake encounter of Gurugram gangster Sandeep Gadoli. Pahuja, who was reportedly Gadoli's girlfriend, was granted bail in June last year. Months later, she was allegedly murdered at a Gurugram hotel on Tuesday.

According to the complaint filed by Pahuja's sister, on January 2, the former model had gone out for a walk with Abhijeet Singh, a Delhi businessman and owner of the Gurugram hotel where Pahuja was allegedly murdered. Pahuja was in touch with her family till January 2 morning. Her number became unreachable later that day, the complainant alleged. Pahuja's sister called Abhijeet Singh, but he refused to give her any information on Divya Pahuja.

Supreme Court refuses to stop Bihar from taking decisions based on caste survey

The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to restrain the Bihar Government from making further decisions based on the data of the caste-based survey, the results of which were revealed in October last year. The top court, however, questioned the extent of the breakup of data which exists in the public domain.

A bench comprising Justices Sanjeev Khanna and Dipankar Dutta was hearing a batch of petitions against the Patna High Court's decision to dismiss pleas challenging the state government conducting the caste-based survey.
