Highlight the increase in the tax base, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that it is the proof that people have faith in the BJP-led Central government and they believe that their tax is being spent for public good.

Modi said this while addressing the tenth Post Budget Webinar on the subject of ‘Enhancing Efficiency of the Financial Services for Creating Growth Opportunities’.

Dwelling on the tax-related post Budget narrative, the Prime Minister said as opposed to the past, the tax burden has come down significantly in India due to GST, reduction in Income Tax and Corporate tax which have resulted in better tax collection.

#Defence: Orders Worth $100 Bn Expected Through Defence Sector in Next 5-10 Yrs: Rajnath Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday outlined the Aatmanirbharta approach of the Indian Navy and praised the sailors and officers for their efforts in keeping the Indian maritime safe and secure.

Speaking at the first edition of the Naval Commanders’ Conference 2023, the Defence Minister said that in the next 5-10 years, orders worth over USD 100 billion are expected to be placed through the defence sector, and it will become a major partner in the economic development of the country.

“Today, our defence sector is on the runway, soon when it takes off, it will transform the country’s economy. If we want to see India among the top economic powers of the world by the end of ‘Amrit Kaal’, we need to take bold steps towards becoming a defence superpower,” the Raksha Mantri said.

#PM Modi Holds High-Level Meet On Hot Weather, Calls For Detailed Fire Audits Of Hospitals

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (March 6, 2023) chaired a high-level meeting to review preparedness for the hot weather conditions in the upcoming summer season and called for a detailed fire audit of all the hospitals. In a meeting at his residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg in the national capital, PM Modi was briefed about the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) weather forecast for the next few months and on the likelihood of a normal monsoon.

According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Modi was also briefed about the impact of weather on Rabi crops and the expected yield of major crops. The Prime Minister was briefed about the preparedness of states and hospital infrastructure in terms of the availability of required supplies and preparedness for emergencies. He was also updated on various efforts underway across the country to prepare for disasters related to heat and mitigation measures in place.
