#IndiansInUkraine: Students Waitng For Evacuation Face Ukrainian Ire After India's UN Move

Even as the Indian government ramped up its evacuation efforts and the foreign secretary called the Ukrainian ambassador to emphasise India's concern for citizens trapped in the war zone, several medical students alleged that they were harassed at checkpoints on Ukraine's border with Poland. The students said they were kept in an almost hostage-like situation in the freezing cold and denied food, water, shelter or safe passage. They claimed that the border guards were abusing them because of India abstaining on a UNSC resolution against the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The students shared videos of soldiers firing warning shots and using force to disperse them. In another clip, a Ukrainian guard was seen shoving away an Indian girl who fell on his feet and begged him to allow her to make the border crossing. Several students said Ukrainian residents have also turned hostile against them.

#Russia-UkraineWar: Tanks Likely Next Step In Russain Invasion of Ukraine; Air Operations Make Inroads

Russia has been largely dependent on air operations till now to allow its ground troops to make inroads into Ukraine. These air assaults have targeted both military installations and high-rise buildings to counter the possibility of sniper fire. It is being speculated that the next step in the Russian assault on Ukraine could be to bring in heavy armour in large numbers. While reports of Russia using tanks in Ukraine are limited, videos shared on social media suggest a movement of Russian armoured vehicles towards Kyiv.

In one such video, Ukrainian civilians can be seen blocking the movement of a tank convoy in northern Ukraine.

In another video that is going viral, Russian troops standing next to a tank are spotted by a passerby who engages in conversation with them.

#UkraineWar: Google Maps Recorded Russia's Invasion Of Ukraine Before It Officially Began

Russia's invasion of Ukraine that began yesterday was captured by Google Maps. Spotted by Jeffrey Lewis, an open-source intelligence expert at 3:15 AM local time, the traffic jam at Belgorod in Russia gave it away. The expert, who's also a professor at Middlebury Institute Tweeted - "someone's on the move" when he spotted a build up of traffic near Ukraine's border with Russia.

In conversation with Vice, Lewis said that they "were the first people to see the invasion" and that too on a traffic app. While Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the "special military operation" in Donbas, a region in Eastern Ukraine, the traffic jam was seen from an entirely different region.
