Shinde, Fadnavis undertake preparations for PM Modi's likely visit to Mumbai ahead of BMC polls During his Mumbai visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate infrastructure projects such as Metro line 2A, 7 and a solid waste treatment plant (STP).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to address a party meeting to boost the morale of party workers ahead of the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections in Mumbai.
It will be PM Narendra Modi's first visit to Mumbai after the change of power from Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government to Shinde-Fadnavis led government in Maharashtra.
The BJP's Mumbai unit has also rolled up its sleeves for the grand welcome of PM Modi during his Mumbai visit. It will be a show of strength for BJP and CM Shinde's 'Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena' against Maha Vikas Aghadi's Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress.
In 2017, Shiv Sena won 84 seats while BJP got 82 seats in BMC polls out of the total 227 seats. Shiv Sena is ruling India's richest Municipal Corporation for last 25 years. The BJP, along with CM Shinde's Shiv Sena faction, may likely win the upcoming BMC polls after an historic split in Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena.
