#Coronavirus: India Reports 2,710 Fresh COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours

India reported 2,710 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of coronavirus cases to 4,31,47,530, according to the Union Health Ministry.

The country also reported 14 more deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-related fatalities to 5,24,539.

Currently, there are 15,814 active cases in the country, the ministry's data showed.

The active cases comprise 0.04 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.75 per cent, the ministry said.

A coronavirus patient died and 113 new cases of the infection were reported in Rajasthan on Friday.

With this, the number of coronavirus deaths and cases in the state so far has increased to 9,556 and 12,85,523 respectively, according to an official report.

Chhattisgarh on Friday recorded one COVID-19 case, taking the tally to 11,52,418, while casualties remained unchanged at 14,034, an official said.

The lone case, at a positivity rate of 0.03 per cent, was reported in Raipur, while 13 districts have no active case at the moment, he said.

Tamil Nadu on Friday logged 55 new COVID-19 infections, pushing the state's cases to 34,55,154 while the total number of casualties remained unchanged at 38,025 till date, the health department said.

The number of people who have recuperated from the viral disease rose to 34,16,728 with 41 more people getting discharged, leaving 401 active infections, a medical bulletin said.

Maharashtra on Friday recorded 536 new coronavirus infections -- the highest one-day rise in cases since March 3 -- but zero pandemic-related fatalities, the health department said.

The tally of active cases crossed the 2,500-mark, it said.

State capital Mumbai alone recorded 352 new coronavirus cases on Friday.

Mumbai reported 352 new coronavirus cases on Friday, most of them asymptomatic, but no new death due to the respiratory illness was registered in the city, the local civic body said.

With this, the financial capital's overall COVID-19 cases climbed to 10,64,273, but casualties remained unchanged at 19,566, said a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) bulletin.

Notably, Mumbai has reported over 300 COVID-19 cases for the second day in a row.

Odisha's COVID-19 cases rose to 12,88,410 today as nine more people tested positive for the infection, a health bulletin said.

Coronavirus casualties remained unchanged at 9,126, it said.
