New Delhi: After accusing Congress for being sole responsible for the mess in the Opposition camp, Bihar Chief Minister and JD (U) president Nitish Kumar has sought to broker peace between two constituents of grand alliance by ruling out himself as Opposition`s PM face in the 2019 LokSabha election.
But it did not deter him from attacking Congress by accusing the old grand party of persuing a reactive agenda rather than coming up with an alternative narrative against the NarendraModi government.
He also accused the Congress of stressing too much on the Presidential elections, asserting that pressing issues like the plight of farmers and increasing incidents of beef-related lynchings were being ignored in the process.
Kumar said he is not at all in the race for PM candidate in 2019 LokSabha elections and has already made it clear on several occasions. “In my opinion, he had not the potential required tobecome PM candidate, he remarked while responding to repeated queries on the issue”, he remarked.
“Face is not so important for opposition unity to succeed in election, rather it should be based on alternative narrative for good result,” Chief Minister said.
He said that he had suggested Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi to take initiative for setting the alternative agenda for opposition parties for the next LokSabha elections when they had met during a book launch ceremony in New Delhi.
