Modi discusses trade, investment with German Chancellor Merkel

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who reached Germany on Monday as part of his four-nation European tour, met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel at her official retreat at Schloss Meseberg, Berlin last night. 
Modi has discussed issues relating to trade, investment, security and the role of both the Nations in maintaining peace in South-Asia region with German Chancellor.

The Indian Ambassador Mukta Dutta Tomar told media at Berlin that the Chancellor had appreciated the fast track mechanism for the FDI projects which had earned up to two billion dollars for the past two years. The two leaders discussed the issues relating to BREXIT and the consequences thereafter. Tomar said, the two leaders also discussed Afghanistan’s reconciliation process and one belt and one road issues. 
The Indian Ambassador said, both leaders also discussed the Issue of terrorism, recent terrorist events and issue of radicalisation in the meeting. She said  Modi appreciated the presence of Germany in Afghanistan to provide stability and underlined the need for reconciliation. 
Issues of climate change have also been discussed and the two leaders observed the possibilities of including the same in the G-20 context. Modi and Merkel will be participating in the 4th Indo German consultations and address the business leaders at the summit.
