Following Altercation, Scribe Gunned Down By Cop In Tripura

New Delhi: A journalist working with a Bengali newspaper was shot dead today allegedly by a constable of Tripura State Rifles (TSR) following an altercation, police said.

The scribe, SudipDattaBhaumick, was gunned down around 2 pm inside the headquarters of the 2nd battalion of TSR at R K Nagar near here, West Tripura SP AbhijitSaptarshi said.

Bhaumick, 48, was a reporter of 'SyandanPatrika'.One TSR constable has been arrested in this connection, the SP said.

Pass On GST Cut Benefits To Consumers, Says Finance Secy Adhia

New Delhi: Union Finance Secretary Hasmukh Adhia has asked India Inc to pass on the benefits of Goods and Services rate cuts to the consumers. Talking to DD News, MrAdhia yesterday said the Fast-moving consumer goods, FMCG, firms and big corporates will have to ensure that retailers pass on the benefit of GST rate cut to consumers and sell their products only after lowering the Maximum Retail Price.
 
On concerns over small businesses coming under the lens of the anti-profiteering authority, Mr Adhiya also said it will take action only against big organised sector companies because they have the full retail chain and they decide the MRP.

Maharashtra Govt To Sell Tur Dal At Rs 55 Per Kg

New Delhi: The Maharashtra government has decided to sell tur dal at subsidised rates through its public distribution system. A decision to this effect was taken by the state Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister DevendraFadnavis. 

The Cabinet approved a proposal to sell tur dal after milling it, which had been procured through the market intervention scheme, by the state government. The government will sell tur dal at 55 rupees per kg.

The government has procured around 25 lakh quintal tur for 1,263 crore rupees. The Cabinet has decided to mill tur and sell it to the various departments including tribal development, women and child development and medical education department for their respective establishments.

BJP Gujarat Chief Files Nomination From Bhavnagar On Last Day

New Delhi: In Gujarat, BJP State President Jitu Vaghani has filed his nomination papers for Bhavnagar West constituency. Tuesday was the last day for filing nominations for the first phase of polling. The polling for this phase will be held on December 9 in 89 constituencies.

The scrutiny will be held tomorrow. A total of 377 nominations were filed yesterday by various candidates. The Congress has released the second list of 13 candidates replacing candidates in four seats from the previous one.
