New Delhi: A plea in the Delhi high court has been filed seeking to quash registration of Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM as a political party. The petition alleged that the party raises issues concerning only Muslims and seeks votes in the name of religion.

The petition filed by the president of the Shiv Sena in Telangana sought setting aside the June 19, 2014 order of the Election Commission of India (ECI) granting recognition of state party of Telangana to the All India Majilis-e-Ittehadul Musalimeen (AIMIM).

Rajasthan Government To Give Assistance To 1 Crore Poor To Buy Smart Phone To Remain Updated

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party government in Rajasthan plans to give around one crore poor families a Rs 1,000-aid from the state government to buy smart phones using which they can remain informed of welfare schemes and avail benefits as per their eligibility.

Launching the Bhamashah Digital Parivar Yojana on Tuesday, Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje said the subsidy of Rs 1,000 will be given to card holders in two installments.

One Stone Pelter Killed in Pulmawa in Jammu and Kashmir After Police Opened Fire

New Delhi: Pelting the police with stones in protest against a search operation in militancy-hit Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district claimed life of a civilian while five others were injured after security forces allegedly fired at a group of people.

Securitymen cordoned off around 15 villages and launched in the morning what locals described as “one of the biggest search and cordon operations in Pulwama in the recent times”.

New Delhi: The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal has found itself in the middle of a huge controversy after a video surfaced, that the opposition alleges, shows a ruling party leader instructing his party workers to frame a BJP worker for possessing cannabis or ganja.

Anubrata Mondal, the Trinamool’s Birbhum district president, is also seen telling party workers at a meeting on Sunday to get the district police chief on the line so that he can pass on the instructions.

Lalu Prasad Requests Shifting Ward for Dog Barking And Mosquito Bite

New Delhi: Currently admitted in a Ranchi hospital for medical care Jailed former Bihar chief minister and Railways minister Lalu Prasad has complained about poor hygiene, mosquito menace and barking by stray dogs. He requested that he be shifted to another ward.

RJD lawmaker and national general secretary Bhola Yadav said that an application has been submitted to the director of the RIMS hospital, where Prasad is admitted, with the plea that he be moved to the 100-bed paying ward, which at present has only three patients.
