BSP Likely To Go Solo In Madhya Pradesh And Rajasthan After Chhattisgarh

New Delhi: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has decided to discontinue pre-poll alliance talks with the Congress in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan after snubbing the Congress in Chhattisgarh. The BSP was likely to go solo in both the states.

The decision was taken even as BSP chief Mayawati reviewed the preparation for assembly elections in three states and screened a list of candidates on Friday, a senior party leader said.

PM Attended Annual Conference Of Top Commanders From Army, Navy And Air Force

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended an annual conference of top commanders from the Indian Army, Navy and the Air Force which deliberated extensively on the external security challenges facing the country.

The conference was also attended by defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman and top brass of the ministry. A range of issues, including the situation along the border with China as well as geo-political power play in the critical sea lanes surrounding India, were discussed in the conference, officials familiar with the matter said on condition of anonymity.

Congress To Send People Involved In Rafale Deal Behind Bar After Coming To Power

New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi continued with his tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Rafale deal. He said that if the Congress comes to power, it will catch those involved in “corruption” in the deal and put them behind bars.

He also threw a challenge to Modi to answer the questions surrounding the deal. Speaking at a public meeting in Satna, 486km northeast of state capital Bhopal, Gandhi said, “Jisne chori ki usko toh hum pakad ke dikhayenge, un par karyavahi karenge, andar karenge (those who have committed theft we will catch them, take action against, put them in jail)”.

New Delhi: Experts say that three schemes unveiled on September 12 by the Central government to ensure farmers get federally fixed minimum support prices (MSPs) are fraught with financial and operational challenges.

A growing number of economists are now pitching for a radical shift in the way government supports agriculture: from subsidies towards a direct income transfer, or a lump sum payment to each cultivator. India has 118 million farmers, according to Census 2011 data.

New Delhi: A day after the Supreme Court struck down Section 57 of the Aadhar Act that allowed sharing of Aadhaar data with private entities, companies don’t have clarity on what the ruling means for their business.

Many companies in the telecom, banking and finance sector are waiting for a notification from their respective regulatory authorities; few say the judgement doesn’t affect them. There is a disagreement even in the legal community on the interpretation of this specific section of the verdict. Some argue it is now impossible for private companies to use Aadhaar data at all; others say Aadhaar can be used as long alternatives are made available to customers.
