New Delhi: Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje will restart the second phase of her Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra from Jaisalmer on August 24. However, threats from the various opposition groups are looming large over the yatra.

Raje will fly from Jaipur to Jaisalmer on the morning of August 24 and begin her yatra with a public meeting in Jaisalmer after which she will visit the Ramdevra temple in Pokran and address a public meeting there, BJP spokesperson Vimal Katiyar said.

The second phase of the yatra will be held from August 24 to September 2. Raje will hold public meetings at 20 places in 33 assembly constituencies of Jodhpur division covering Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Pali, Sirohi, Jalore and districts and will travel 1,285 km.

The yatra will have a three-day break August 26-28, Katiyar said.

On August 24 and 25, the yatra will cover constituencies in Jaisalmer and Jodhpur districts.

On August 29, it will travel between Pali and and Sirohi districts. On August 30, the yatra will pass through constituencies in Sirohi district and will cover constituencies in Jalore district on August 31.

On September 1 and 2, it will travel through Barmer district and return to Jodhpur on September 2 evening. Interestingly the yatra is covering six of seven constituencies in Barmer leaving out Sheo which is represented by BJP MLA Manvendra Singh, and son of senior BJP leader Jaswant Singh.

Raje was scheduled to begin the second leg of the yatra in Bharatpur division on August 16, 17, 19 and 20. However, the party decided to postpone the Bharatpur leg of the yatra after the demise of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Sources said the decision was also influenced by threats of opposition to the yatra by the Gurjar community.
