
New Delhi: Gujarati has been made a compulsory language in all the schools affiliated with different boards in the state.
State Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama informed the assembly on Tuesday that teaching of the language will be mandatory in schools affiliated with CBSE, ICSE and international boards as well as English medium schools from the academic year 2018-19.
Mr Chudasama said that from academic year beginning June 2018-19, Gujarati will be introduced as an introductory language in classes 1 and 2 wherein basics will be taught.
