Ivanka Trump And PM Modi Inaugurate Global Entrepreneurship Summit

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President's adviser Ivanka Trump jointly inaugurated the eighth Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Hyderabad on Tuesday focusing on women entrepreneurs. 
 
They pressed buttons displaying the flags of India and the US on a robot. Speaking on the occasion the Prime Minister said India is a land of innovation. He said Indian women continue to lead in different walks of life. 
 
Mr. Modi said three out of four oldest High Courts in India are headed by women Judges. Our sports women have also done the country proud. Citing examples Mr. Modi said Women are at the forefront of cooperative movements in India. 
 
Earlier, Ivanka Trump addressed the GES opening ceremony. She said India has a true friend in White House. She acknowledged that India is one of the fastest growing economies. 
 
Ivanka will also be taking part in two plenary sessions mainly on women entrepreneurship during the summit. She leads a delegation of entrepreneurs that has representation from 38 states of the US. 
 
About 1500 delegates from over 150 countries are taking part in the three-day Summit. Ten countries are being represented by all women delegations.  
 
After making a beginning in 2010, the GES has been hosted in Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Morocco and Kenya. Last year it was held in Silicon Valley. 
 
India was given opportunity to host GES during the US visit of the Prime Minister in June.
