Madras HC Adjourns Case Against Disqualification Of 18 AIADMK MLAs To Nov 2

New Delhi: The Madras High Court has adjourned the case against disqualification of 18 AIADMK MLAs loyal to its sidelined leader TTV Dhinakaran to November 2. 

When the case came up for hearing today before Justice K Ravichandra Babu, senior counsel Abhishek Manu Singhvi appearing on behalf of the disqualified MLAs sought permission to file additional affidavits. 

The counsels of the Speaker, the Assembly Secretary, the AIADMK Whip and the Chief Minister sought more time to reply if additional affidavits are allowed to be filed by the petitioner. 

After hearing both the sides, the court directed the parties to file their additional affidavits, replies and rejoinders by October 23rd and posted the case for further hearing on November 2. 

The stay granted against holding any trust vote in the Assembly or initiating any move to hold by-polls in the 18 seats continue.
