New Delhi: Members of the Jat community beloning to Dholpur and Bharatpur districts of Rajasthan have been given reservation under the Other Backward Class (OBC) category. The State Social Justice and Empowerment department issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday after approval from the cabinet. 

It was a long pending demand of the Jat community people residing in both the districts to include them in the OBC list. This is a politicially significant move, as Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has her boroughs of influence among the members of the Jat community belonging to these two districts.
