New Delhi: Finance Minister ArunJaitley, who also has the charge of the Defence Ministry, has said the work in either of the two ministries was not suffering due to his dual responsibility. 

Asked about handling both ministries at a time when a lot is happening on both finance and defence fronts, the Minister said: "I don't think these are permanent arrangements. Your question is good but it is addressed to the wrong man.

These are prerogatives of the Prime Minister (NarendraModi) and he will take an appropriate decision." 

"There are times when you have to handle the responsibilities that come your way and though it's challenging in terms of time and physical energy... you try and do it to the best of your ability. I can assure you that no work in either of these departments is suffering due to the dual responsibility," Jaitley added. 

Jaitley was given the charge of the Defence Ministry after ManoharParrikar took over as Goa Chief Minister in March this year.
