EU Parliament Passes Resolution To Censure Use Of Military Courts In Pakistan

New Delhi:Indian efforts to corner Pakistan on the issue of death sentence to former Navy official KulbhushanJadhav has received a shot in the arm as European Union Parliament has passed a resolution saying that the use of military courts in Pakistan was deplorable. It said that the human rights record of the nation was dismal.
The resolution was passed months after Pakistan sentenced Indian national KulbhushanJadhav to death by an Army court. India has challenged the sentence at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) at The Hague.

The ICJ stayed Jadhav's death sentence as a provisional measure till its final verdict. India maintains that Jadhav was kidnapped from Iran where he had business interests after retiring from the Indian Navy and was falsely implicated by Pakistan.
