#Delhi Excise Policy Case: ‘Will Appear On March 11,’ KCR's Daughter Kavitha Writes To ED

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K. Kavitha has written to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) that she will appear before the agency on March 11 in the Delhi excise policy case. Kavitha has written the letter in response to the notice issued by the ED asking her to appear before it on March 9.  The daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had apparently requested for a week`s time to appear but the ED rejected her request, and subsequently, she sent another letter. A statement in this regard was issued from Kavitha`s office late Wednesday night.

"I being a responsible Indian citizen and as a woman of this nation, wish to exercise my rights provided under the law," she wrote.

#WomenPower: IAF Creates History, Picks Female Officer To Command Combat Unit In Western Sector

In a historic decision, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has selected a female officer to command a frontline combat unit in the western sector.

The IAF officer – Group Captain Shaliza Dhami – will command a missile squadron in the western sector against Pakistan.

Commissioned in 2003 as a helicopter pilot, Group Captain Dhami has over 2800 hours of flying experience. A Qualified Flying Instructor, she has served as Flight Commander of a Helicopter Unit in the Western sector.

#Delhi: Manish Sisodia Sent To Judicial Custody Till March 20 In Delhi Excise Policy Case

Rouse Avenue Court in the national capital on Monday sent former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia to judicial custody till March 20 in the case pertaining to the excise policy case. The court allowed Sisodia to carry a pair of spectacles, a diary, a pen, and the Bhagavad Gita during his judicial custody. The AAP leader, who was produced before special judge MK Nagpal on the expiry of his seven-day custodial interrogation allowed by the court earlier, has also been allowed to have medicines prescribed in his MLC conducted by CBI officials.

As requested by Sisodia's counsel, Court has also directed Jail Superintendent to consider the request of keeping him in the 'Vipassana' cell.

#Umesh Pal Murder Case: Another Accused Usman Shot Dead In Police Encounter In Prayagraj

Another accused, Vijay alias Usman has been shot dead by the Prayagraj police in an encounter on Monday. This is the second in the massive crackdown by the police after it neutralised one accused in a similar encounter in the Nehru Park area of the city.

Dr. Badri Vishal Singh, Emergency Medical Officer, Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, Prayagraj confirmed the news to reporters. He said, "Patient Usman was brought dead. We performed the examinations following which he was declared dead & the body was sent to the mortuary."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said "out-of-the-box thinking" and "long-term vision" can take tourism to new heights, and added that villages in far-flung areas of India have now come up on the map of tourism.

Addressing a post-budget webinar on 'Developing Tourism in Mission Mode', he also pitched for devolving apps which will have information in multiple languages of India, besides multi-lingual signage at tourist sites.

The prime minister elaborated on how this year's Union Budget would help the tourism sector and create many economic opportunities for the youth.
