PM Narendra Modi on Sunday instructed BJP lawmakers, including parliamentarians and MLAs, to cast their votes carefully in the presidential polls and ensure a historic win for NDA nominee Droupadi Murmu whose life, he said, is an inspiration for all. He asked party workers to highlight how she remained committed to humanity despite facing several adversities in her personal life.

"All the elected members, who constitute the electoral college of the presidential polls, should reach on time and cast their votes carefully and also inspire others to vote for Murmuji," the PM said during the party's national executive committee meeting. Modi said, when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the prime minister, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam took over as the President and there will be two Presidents during the current NDA dispensation.
