The Punjab Police Tuesday made the first arrest in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case and secured five days’ remand of the accused, who was identified as Manpreet Singh Bhau.

Bhau was produced before a Mansa court and sent to police custody for five days.

The arrest came within 24 hours of the murder that had shocked the whole music world. Manpreet was among the six persons detained from Dehradun on Monday.

Manpreet Singh Bhau hails from the Dhapyi village in Faridkot. He is the cousin of Manpreet Singh Manna, who was locked up in Ferozpur jail and was brought on remand on Monday by the Mansa Police in connection with the Sidhu Moosewala murder case. Manna is also a gangster and is in judicial custody for killing gangster Kulbir Naruana.

Sources said Manpreet Singh Bhau provided logistics support to the attackers but was not among the attackers. The police are expecting more information about the attackers from Manpreet. According to sources, Manpreet Singh Bhau had given a white Tata Corolla car, owned by Manpreet Singh Manna, to the attackers. The car was seen closely following Sidhu Moosewala’s Thar and it was the first car that had approached the victim’s car and those inside the Corolla started firing at the Thar.

After the first round, more attackers in another Bolero car, which was following the Corolla, joined the first group of attackers and fired at Moosewala.

Manpreet Singh Bhau has nine cases registered against him in Faridkot, Ropar and Muktsar. Most of the cases are under the Arms Act, kidnapping and murder charges.
