It looks like the actor will essay the role of a cop in the film. The Priest actor will be seen in a completely different avatar. Produced by S George, the film will be bankrolled by Dulquer Salmaan's production house, Wayfarer Films.

Sharing the first-look poster, Mammootty wrote, "Presenting the First Look Poster of my upcoming movie @PuzhuMovie! Directed By Ratheena & Produced By S George Shoot in Progress ! #PuzhuFirstLook (sic)."

Helmed by Ratheena Sharshad, the social thriller Puzhu is written by Harshad, Sharfu and Suhas. The film stars Mammootty and Parvathy Thiruvothu in lead roles. One of the most-anticipated films, Puzhu, is produced by S George in association with Dulquer Salmaan's production house Wayfarer Films. Theni Eshwar has been brought on board for cinematography with Deepu Joseph as the editor. The film's music is composed by Jakes Bejoy.
