The rumour mill has been abuzz about Nayanthara's engagement to boyfriend Vignesh Shivan since Tuesday after fans came across the promo of her interview on Vijay Television where she can be seen referring to her engagement ring. On Wednesday, August 11, the makers of her next film unveiled a BTS video where the actress can be seen bonding with her reel pet Scooby on Netrikann sets. Nayathara plays a visually impaired person in the film who is assisted by her guide dog Scooby to carry out her daily chores.

Nayanthara is eagerly waiting for the release of Netrikann on Disney+Hotstar VIP on August 13. On Wednesday, August 11, the makers released a BTS video from the film where the Bigil actress can be seen bonding with her reel pet dog Scooby on sets. Directed by Milind Rau, the story revolves around a visually impaired person who is a witness in a police case. Netrikann stars Nayanthara and Ajmal in the lead roles. The edgy thriller has already intrigued fans.

Directed by Milind Rau, Netrikann will release in four languages - Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam on Disney+Hotstar VIP. Apart from Nayanthara, Netrikann also stars Ajmal Ameer, Manikandan Pattambi and Saran in crucial roles. The film was set to release in theatres. However, due to the second wave of the novel coronavirus, makers decided to skip the theatrical release. Nayanthara's Netrikann marks Vignesh Shivan's debut as a producer under his banner Rowdy Pictures. He has also penned the lyrics for the title track of the film.
