Panel moots revamp of Bharat Scout and Guides

A seven-member High-Level Committee on Scouts and Guides suggested mandatory revamp of the Bharat Scout and Guides and Hindustan Scouts and Guides. The committee submitted its report to Sports Minister Vijay Goel today. 
An official release said the committee has found a number of irregularities and anomalies in the management and financial management. It has further recommended for a permanent monitoring Committee to periodically assess the activities of both the organisations and submit report to the Ministry.

UP to recommend CBI probe into mystery death of IAS officer

Uttar Pradesh government today decided to recommend a CBI probe into the mysterious death of Karnataka cadre IAS officer Anurag Tiwari.
Talking to media persons at Lucknow this evening, Principal Home Secretary Arvind Kumar and Director General of Police Sulkhan Singh said, government is committed for impartial probe into the matter. 
They said, family members of the deceased officer today met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and sought CBI probe terming the mysterious death as murder of Mr Tiwari.

Rajya Sabha polls for Goa, Gujarat, Bengal put off

The Election Commission has withdrawn its notification to hold biennial election to ten seats from Goa, Gujarat and West Bengal in Rajya Sabha. 
The term of six members of the Rajya Sabha from West Bengal and three from Gujarat was due to expire in August and one from Goa in July this year. Earlier the elections were scheduled on 8th of next month.

UNSC to push for sanctions against N Korea over missile test

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has strongly condemned North Korea's latest missile test and vowed to push all countries to tighten sanctions against Pyongyang. In a unanimous statement backed by China, Pyongyang's ally, the council instructed its sanctions committee to redouble efforts to implement a raft of tough measures adopted last year. 
The council also agreed to take further significant measures including sanctions to force North Korea to change course and end its highly destabilising behaviour.

15 found guilty of diverting public funds to terror activities in Assam

A special court of National Investigation Agency (NIA) today convicted all the 15 accused in connection with the two cases registered with the premier agency relating to diversion of public funds towards terror activities. 
The Court held 13 accused in the first case and two in the second case guilty of charges framed against them.
