16 kg gold missing from customs at IGIA, CBI registers a case

Around 16 kg gold, in the vaults of the Customs Department at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi, has been reportedly stolen. The CBI has registered a case in this regard.
The theft of gold, valued at about Rs four crore, came to light during inspection of vaults by Stock Taking Committee between January 9 to February 21 this year. A case of over 38 kg missing gold is already registered by the investigative agency. It has registered a case of theft against unidentified persons in the current case too.

Modi asks state govts to use CCTNS for effective policing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked all state governments to accord high priority to the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) to ensure better law and order.
During a meeting of PRAGATI on Wednesday, he said high priority should be given to this network, so that maximum benefit could be taken from it, in the interest of law and order. He urged the states to accord high priority to this network, so that maximum benefit could be taken from it.
The CCTNS is a project of the Central government for creating a comprehensive and integrated system for effective policing through e-governance.

Minor smoke in Delhi Metro train triggers panic among passengers

Smoke caused by sparks in the last coach of a Delhi Metro train sent panic among passengers at the Rajiv Chowk station. The train was immediately evacuated.
The incident occurred at 10.20 am when the Samaypur Badli-bound train was entering Rajiv Chowk. While the train was evacuated at the station instantaneously, the incident affected services on Yellow Line. No injury to any passenger reported. 
According to Metro officials, the smoke emanated from the air-conditioning vent of the last coach of a metro train. As a precaution, the train was evacuated at the station itself and passengers were accommodated in the next train," a Delhi Metro official said.

Investment on agenda of PM’s four-nation tour from May 29

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark upon four-nation tour from May 29. During his visit to Germany, Spain, Russia and France, he is expected to hard sell investment opportunities in India. 
Announcing the six-day visit of the Prime Minister, the External Affairs Ministry in a press statement listed out various business events where Mr Modi will be interacting with top industry captains of these countries. 
On Monday, Modi will be hosted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel at her official Meseberg Country Retreat where the two leaders will discuss issues of mutual interest.

India is moving towards isolating Pakistan diplomatically and is considering punitive actions against Islamabad for its alleged support to cross border terrorism, a top American defence intelligence chief has told lawmakers.
"India has sought and continues to move to isolate Pakistan diplomatically and is considering punitive options to raise the cost to Islamabad for its alleged support to cross-border terrorism," Lt Gen Vincent Stewart, director, Defense Intelligence Agency told members of the powerful Senate Armed Services Committee during a Congressional hearing on worldwide threats.
