New Delhi:The opposition may announce the name of a joint candidate for the vice presidential polls following a strategy meeting of all opposition parties at Parliament library today.

Taking a different course, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will not participate in the meeting.

New Delhi: Under pressure for having failed to control deteriorating law and order situation in the state, West Bengal government has ordered a judicial inquiry into the "communal" clashes sparked by a Facebook post at Baduria and Basirhat in the North 24 Parganas district.

"The probe would be headed by Justice (Retd) Soumitra Pal of the Calcutta High Court," Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said. The order came after Centre said that the state government was not deploying para-military forces to control the situation.

Noida: The Goods and Service Tax (GST) Council, through a notification, has clearly said that non-profit entity, which is registered under any law, has been spared from the levy of GST for providing service to its own members by way of reimbursement of charges of shares paid by the end user. The the council has also doubled the exemption of service tax in the levy of GST to Rs 20 lakhs from Rs 10 lakh for non-profit entity.
