Europe's largest nuclear plant is completely out of control: UN nuclear chief

Rafael Grossi, the UN nuclear chief has shot out a warning to the world leaders, stating that Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest nuclear power plant facility in Europe 'is completely out of control'. 

“Every principle of nuclear safety has been violated. What is at stake is extremely serious and extremely grave and dangerous,” said Grossi. 

Grossi pleaded with both Russia and Ukraine to allow nuclear experts to inspect the plant before anything catastrophic happens.

Amid ‘fake collections’ & back-to-back flops, Telugu film industry stops shooting from Aug 1

Recently, Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce secretary Mutyala Ramesh and Exhibitors sector chairman T.S. Ram Prasad slammed leading stars for charging high remunerations and being happy with producers giving fake collections of their films. 

Now, a day after that, the Active Telugu Films Producers Guild (ATFPG) released a statement leaving many in shock. 

In the statement, the producers announced that they have decided to stop shooting from August 1 until they find a balance between the production cost of a film and its theatrical business.

Sundar Pichai says Google has too many employees but too few work, issues warning

It seems that Google's CEO Sundar Pichai is not happy with the performance of many employees. The executive held a meeting and warned its employees to work efficiently and focus more on how to better improve their products and help customers. Pichai believes that productivity is missing and it is not where it should be considering the number of people Google has. This basically suggests that the CEO feels that Google has too many employees, but not a lot of them work efficiently and are focused.

A report from CNBC claims that Pichai has asked employees to "create a culture that is more mission-focused, more focused on our products, more customer focused. We should think about how we can minimize distractions and really raise the bar on both product excellence and productivity."

Taiwan 'prepares for war' with China, puts military on alert ahead of US official's visit

Taiwan has reportedly put its military on high alert and has cancelled the leave of some officials and soldiers as it 'prepares for war' with China over US senator Nancy Pelosi's reported visit.

According to Taiwan news outlets, the military has mobilised the air defence forces to "immediately prepare for war" after a high-level briefing.

This comes amid US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's tour of four Asian countries, which began on Monday. Local media in Taiwan reported that Pelosi will arrive on Tuesday night, becoming the highest-ranking elected US official to visit in more than 25 years.

UK Prime Minister race: Liz Truss gains upper hand over rival Rishi Sunak

In a bid to succeed Boris Johnson as the UK`s Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has offered attractive tax cuts and other promises which have given her an unbeatable lead over former Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak.

As per the latest estimate by betting exchange firm Smarkets, Truss has been rated at 90.09 per cent, in the race for the next permanent leader of the Conservative Party, after Boris Johnson. While Rishi Sunak received only 10 per cent. The British public has lapped up the promises of immediate tax cuts by Truss which would put more money in their pockets and have just about rejected Sunak`s economic policies which are more in touch with reality.
