Dobaaraa movie review: This Taapsee Pannu-starrer never feels like an Anurag Kashyap film

in WORLD

Time-travel mystery ‘Dobaaraa’ plays with multiple meanings (‘dobaaraa’ is the Hindi word for again), and ‘do barah’ (2.12, twelve minutes past two). An official remake of 2018 Spanish film ‘Mirage’, the film also attempts to play with our heads. Is it possible to go back in the past, and change things?

A family moves into a Pune house, and in the process of settling in, discovers an old TV set-and- camcorder, which crackles to life during a massive storm. Turns out that the house has a dark past: thirty years back, a little boy and his architect mum were witness to what appeared to be a horrible crime in the house next door, leading to a tragedy.

India taunts China on Indo-Pacific in Thailand, says Quad is ‘most prominent’ platform

in WORLD

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar Thursday said only countries that have mindsets “built around spheres of influence” and are “uncomfortable” with democratic thoughts will oppose the concept of a rules-based order in the Indo-Pacific, indirectly taunting China even as he stressed on “ASEAN centrality” within the strategic construct.

“This is about recognising the realities of globalisation and the consequences of rebalancing. Only those whose mindsets are built around spheres of influence and uncomfortable with the democratisation of world affairs will dispute the Indo-Pacific today,” he said, addressing the Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 director Anees Bazmee opens up on Hindi films failure at Box Office

in WORLD

Unlike Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan among many others, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is one of the biggest blockbuster hits of the year in the Bollywood industry. Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa’s director Anees Bazmee recently opened up on the failure of the Hindi films at the box office and said, “We need to learn that we need to make good quality films”.

The Bollywood industry is indeed going through a down phase, with much-anticipated and big budgets films like Samrat Prithviraj, Laal Singh Chaddha, Raksha Bandhan, and others failing at the box office, it is now becoming hard to perform well at the theatres. However, there are still many exceptional films that went on to get a good response from the audience including Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi and Kartik Aaryan starrer film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

Vladimir Putin says Russia ready to offer its ‘most advance weapons’ to allies

in WORLD

President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia is ready to offer its “most advance weapons” to its allies and is ready to cooperate in developing military technology.

His remarks came on Monday at the opening of an annual arms show outside Moscow that caters to foreign customers.

The Kremlin leader said that Russia’s arms exports play an important role in the development of a “multipolar word,” —a term Kremlin uses it to describe its efforts to counter what it sees as US global domination.
