UAE announces Corporate tax rules for non-resident person's nexus

The Cabinet Decision on non-resident persons' connection in the UAE has been announced by the UAE Ministry of Finance.

According to the decision, foreign companies and other overseas legal entities (non-resident juridical persons) will be subject to UAE Corporate Tax on income earned from immovable property located within the UAE. Both immovable properties held or used for commercial purposes as well as immovable property kept in the UAE for investment purposes are encompassed by this.

Germany asks China not to poach ex-air force pilots in fear of them spilling NATO secrets

China has been recruiting Germany’s ex-air force pilots and so the latter has asked the former to stop doing so, fearing they would spill NATO-related secrets.

“I raised the question of Germany air force pilots who have apparently been recruited to train (Chinese) pilots,” Defence Minister Boris Pistorius told reporters.

He was speaking after meeting his Chinese counterpart Li Shangfu on the margins of a defence and security conference in Singapore.

Mother, child among three killed in latest Russian strike on Kyiv

Three people including a mother and her child were on Thursday killed in the latest Russian strike on Kyiv, after they had tried to enter a bomb shelter that was closed, CNN reported.

The strike killed a 9-year-old girl, her 34-year-old mother, and a 33-year-old woman, and injured 12 others. Though Kyiv’s air defences destroyed all ten Russian missiles launched overnight, but falling debris from the missiles caused damage to buildings and killed several civilians, as per CNN.

Chinese Ship Detained in Malaysia for Stealing World War Relics from Sunken UK Battleships

The Malaysian coast guard earlier this week detained a Chinese vessel which was allegedly involved in stealing World War II shipwrecks, according to Japanese news outlets Kyodo and Nikkei Asia.

Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency in a statement that the Chinese vessel was registered in Fuzhou, China and that it had detained 32 crew members on Sunday for anchoring in waters off Malaysia’s eastern coast, in southern Johor, without a permit.

Japan PM Kishida Fires Son After Photos Of 'Inappropriate' Private Party At Official Residence Emerge

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has fired his eldest son Shotaro Kishida as his executive secretary after the latter’s inappropriate photographs taken at the premier's official residence during a family function last year attracted massive public outcry, reported Japan Today. As per a report by The Guardian, photos published by the Shukan Bunshun weekly magazine showed Kishida’s son and his relatives posing or lying on the symbolically important red-carpeted stairs of the residence. 

They lied imitating a of group photos of newly appointed cabinets. The report mentioned that Kishida’s eldest son was at the centre – the position reserved for the prime minister.
