In Prague, Zelensky says Kyiv needs 'honesty' in ties with NATO

Ahead of the crucial NATO summit in Vilnius, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who is on a visit to the Czech Republic, expressed the need for "honesty" in the country's relationship with NATO. Zelensky, accompanied by Czech President Petr Pavel, said, "We need honesty in our ties" and underscored the importance of demonstrating the courage and strength of the alliance. 

Zelensky also said that Ukraine's counteroffensive is not progressing rapidly. However, he continued by saying that despite that, Ukrainian troops are making advancements and not retreating like the Russians.

US debates sending a controversial weapon to Ukraine to win the war

The Biden administration is considering sending a controversial class of weapons to Kyiv in the hopes that it will help Ukrainian forces push Russia out of the occupied territories and win the war for the embattled nation. But there’s one big catch that worries officials. 

Cluster bombs have been banned in hundreds of countries according to NBC News and their use by Russian forces earlier in the war has been commented on by Congress and human rights groups for its brutality, yet the U.S. is considering sending them to Kyiv.

Russia turning towards Asia post Ukraine conflict, trade with India improved: EAM Jaishankar

Union Minister of External Affairs, S Jaishankar, on Monday said Russia is turning more towards Asia after the Ukraine conflict. 

Addressing the students' dialogue at the National Institute of Technology, the EAM also highlighted the growth in the economic partnership between India and Russia and said Russia's trade with India was USD 40 billion last year, far ahead of the figure before the Ukraine conflict.

"Till last year, Russia's main economic partner was the Western countries. However, that route was closed after the Ukraine conflict. So, Russia is turning more towards Asia," EAM Jaishankar said.

A collection for a French policeman who sparked nationwide riots last week by shooting a teenager dead during a traffic stop reached more than 850,000 euros ($924,000) on Monday morning.

Just under 40,000 people had made donations to the online fund set up on the website Gofundme.com by a far-right media commentator.
