Fans blast BCCI for delaying IPL final presentation

in SPORTS

Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday (May 29) to win the title in their debut season. Shubman Gill hit the winning runs as he smashed Obed McCoy over the fine-leg fence for a maximum to finish the final in style.

The final of the 15th edition of the cash-rich league was attended by a record crowd of over one lakh (104,859). However, the capacity crowd was in a way let down by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The IPL final ended around 11:30 pm but the broadcasters and organisers kept the fans in the stadium as well as those who were watching the game on their screens waiting for another hour before the long presentation ceremony finally began.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp defiant after Champions League final loss: 'We will go again'

in SPORTS

Jurgen Klopp has vowed Liverpool will bounce back stronger next year after a campaign which promised an unprecedented Quadruple ended with a 1-0 Champions League Final defeat to Real Madrid.

Vinicius Junior scored the only goal at the Stade de France to hand Real Madrid a record-extending 14th European Cup and leave Liverpool with only the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup trophies to show for their marathon 64-game season.

Klopp's side last week missed out on the Premier League title to Manchester City by a solitary point and were denied a seventh European crown in France on a Saturday evening somewhat overshadowed by thousands of supporters experiencing difficulties entering the stadium with some being tear-gassed by French police.
