Former England spinner Graeme Swann has picked England as favourites over India in the rescheduled 5th Test, starting July 1st at Edgbaston Birmingham. The Three Lions made an emphatic start under new coach Brendon McCullum and skipper Ben Stokes, drubbing World Test Championship winners New Zealand 3-0 in the recently concluded series.

India, on the other end, has a lot of concerns to deal with heading into the series decider. The availability of skipper Rohit Sharma is in doubt after the batter tested positive for COVID-19. Star India opener KL Rahul will also not be available due to injury. Both Rohit and Rahul played a pivotal role in India taking a 2-1 lead in the series. Both players looked fairly comfortable against the swinging deliveries and laid a solid platform for the batters to follow. If Rohit misses out, India will have to open with an inexperienced duo of Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill. Swann believes that having played against New Zealand ahead of the 5th Test is a big advantage to England.

Fans were left baffled on social media after Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a '201 kmph' delivery in the first T20I against Ireland in Dublin on Sunday (June 26). Bhuvneshwar was once again the pick of the bowlers for the Indian team after producing an economical spell in the rain-affected 12-overs-per-side contest. He finished with excellent figures of 1/16 as India restricted Ireland to 108/4 and won the game by 7 wickets.

While Bhuvneshwar was lauded by many for his bowling exploits, fans were left stunned after witnessing the Indian pacer cross the 200 kmph barrier during the game. Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar holds the record for bowling the fastest delivery in international cricket at 161.3 kph.

Deepak Hooda powered India to a comprehensive 7-wicket win over Ireland in a rain-curtailed 12 overs a side 1st T20I match at The Village, Dublin. The visitors chased down the 109-run target with complete ease as Hooda hit the winning runs with 16 balls to spare as India take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

Chasing the tricky target, opener Ishan Kishan gave India a flying start with a quickfire 26-run knock in 11 balls. However, he failed to convert the start into a big score and got castled by Craig Young after hitting three fours and two sixes. Suryakumar Yadav, who was making his comeback after recovering from injury, was dismissed on a golden duck as back-to-back wickets from Young gave Ireland some hopes.

India pacer Mohammed Shami got the better of an in-form Cheteshwar Pujara during a four-day practice match ahead of the rescheduled fifth Test that will be played between India and England in Edgbaston from July 1. The duo was against each other as Pujara is representing Leicestershire County Cricket Club.

Both Shami and Pujara will be playing for the same team in a week’s time, but on this occasion, it was Shami who succeeded in deceiving the Gujarat batter who has made a tremendous impact on the English soil in the County season.
