Fans divided as Hardik closed down on Umran Malik’s pace in 1st T20I

in SPORTS

Hardik Pandya starred in India’s massive win over England in the first T20I. The all-rounder broke several records during the match, with both bat and ball.

While batting he notched up his maiden T20I half-century and then ripped apart the English top order with his street-smart bowling. He became the first Indian player to score a fifty and dismiss four batters in the same T20I.

It was a special record but there was something else which gave Hardik the biggest satisfaction during the match.

The all-rounder, who is known for bowling in the region of late 130s and early 140s, delivered a bullet delivery, clocking 90.5mph (145.6kph) during his match-winning spell in the first T20I against England in Southampton.

Their lacklustre performance on the final two days of the Edgbaston Test made them pay a heavy price, one they would never forget their whole life.

To make things worse, India’s slow over rate during the rescheduled Test match cost them two crucial World Test Championship points. It has pushed the last edition’s finalists down to the fourth spot on the WTC points table, below arch-rivals Pakistan.
