Indian cricket team's semi-final exit from ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 remains to be a big talking point among cricket experts. Having reached the semi-final of the showpiece event, India suffered an embarrassing 10-wicket defeat against England. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma - who had a poor run with the bat, was criticised for his captaincy during the tournament.

Leading India in his first World Cup as captain, Sharma could not make an impact with the bat and his decision-making skills were also questioned as the selection came under the scanner.

The International Cricket Council has announced line-up for the match officials for the T20 World Cup final, set to be played between England vs Pakistan on Sunday, 13 November. The iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground is set to host the game where Jos Buttler's team will take on the resilient Pakistan, as both the outfits will be looking to add their second T20 World Cup title. The ICC on Friday, announced the officials that will be taking part in the game.

"The match officials' appointments for the final of the eighth ICC Men's T20 World Cup have been announced," ICC wrote in a release.

"Umpires Marais Erasmus and Kumar Dharmasena will assume on-field duties in the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 to be played between Pakistan and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 13 November," it further added.

India choked in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 after big loss vs England at the Adelaide. The Indian cricket team produced one of the worst bowling shows in the tournament, losing the match by 10 wickets. India lost the toss and were asked to bat first. KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma failed again at the start and it took solid knock from Virat Kohli to steady the innings while Hardik Pandya ensured they posted 168/6 in their alloted 20 overs. But India's bowling show was jut not up to the mark. 

One of the biggest reasons for India's loss was unavailability of Yuzvendra Chahal, the leg-spinner. It is quite baffling to note that he did not play a single match in the World Cup. Last year, he was not in the squad and this year even when they took him to the World Cup, he was not played. India messed up in their planning by not picking Chahal in the XI. 

Only two steps away from the ultimate glory, India cannot afford to put a foot wrong as they square off against a formidable England on a tricky Adelaide Oval track in the T20 World Cup 2022 semifinal on Thursday (November 10). While India have had better performances in the group stage compared to England, a high stakes, 'winner takes it all' contest like this always starts on an even keel.

England's premier all-rounder Ben Stokes has already admitted that they have not play their best cricket and the Indian team needs to ensure that a Jos Buttler and Stokes himself don't choose the semifinal to bring their A game to the fore. History is also a bit against India when it comes to results at the business end of the ICC events.
