Russia laundering Western-manufactured components for its weapons in Ukraine via third countries such as India: Report

A report by the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), a British defence and security think tank, claims that companies in India could be covertly helping Western-manufactured components bypass arms embargoes to make their way into Russian weapons deployed in Ukraine.

The report, titled “Operation Z: The Death Throes of an Imperial Delusion”, written by Jack Watling, senior research fellow for land warfare at RUSI, and Nick Reynolds, research analyst for land warfare, RUSI, details how various pieces of Russian military equipment found on the battlefield in Ukraine contain foreign-made components prohibited under Western arms embargoes.

As Congress-PK talks failed, Adhir Chowdhury may have to quit a post

The Congress's talks on the possible induction of election strategist Prashant Kishor (PK) may have fallen apart but it has certainly started implementing the recommendations prescribed by him for the party’s revival.

On April 28, former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath stepped down from his post of leader of opposition in the state assembly. Till then, he was holding two party posts - that of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president and Congress legislature party (CLP) leader in the assembly.

Following his resignation as CLP leader, Nath remains only as the Madhya Pradesh Congress president.

Indian Army recovers military equipment sent from Afghanistan in Kashmir

The Indian army recently said that there has been a rise in the recovery of military equipment from Afghanistan in the Kashmir region. General officer Commanding (GoC) of the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, Lieutenant General Devendra Pratap Pandey, today said that the equipment weapon system which is used across the world had made its way into the Kashmir region. 

He said that it's definitely a challenge, but the Indian Army is all ready to tackle any such issue. According to the Indian army, equipments from Afghanistan have been recovered near the Line of Control and in a few encounters as well. The Indian army had found some night vision devices and satellite phones.

Religious event at Aligarh, organisers get show-cause notice for comments against minority community

The Aligarh district administration has sent a show-cause notice to the organisers of a religious event on Sunday during which some speakers allegedly made objectionable references against a minority community.

A Sanatan Dharma Sabha was organised at Aligarh's Ramlila Ground on Sunday, and it was also attended by Yati Narsinghanand and Kalicharan Maharaj, both already facing criminal cases for hate speeches.

Poll strategist Prashant Kishor likely to float a political party

Political strategist Prashant Kishor said on Monday that it was time for him to go directly to the people, creating a buzz in political circles. There is speculation that he could launch a new political party, with an announcement coming as early as May 5, media learns.

Interestingly, Prashant Kishor, who is in Patna was scheduled to meet chief minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday evening but did not. 

His quest to be a meaningful participant in democracy and help shape pro-people policy led to a 10-year roller-coaster ride, Kishor said in a tweet. It was time to go to the real masters, the people, to better understand the issues and the path to good governance, he added. The beginning will be from his home state of Bihar, the poll strategist said.
