Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had filed public interest litigation (PIL) against the Bengal government alleging corruption in the sale of the state government's stake in Metro Dairy to a private company, Keventers, in 2015. P Chidambaram was representing Keventers in this case.

Terrorists operating in the Kashmir valley have started using steel core bullets and Canadian night sights that were left behind by the American-led NATO alliance when it was forced to retreat from Afghanistan. US forces reportedly left behind weapons and equipment worth billions of dollars in Afghanistan.

Recently, it was found that some of the terrorists in the Kashmir valley used American armour piercing bullets in encounters with Indian security forces and were successful in breaching the bulletproof jackets of soldiers. South Delhi Municipal Corporation asked the Delhi Police to deploy its police force to start the encroachment drive from May 9 to May 13.
