After explosive revelations by Kerala gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh, state Congress president K. Sudhakaran on Tuesday demanded Vijayan's immediate resignation.

"In the country such a thing is being heard of for the first time where a Chief Minister is alleged to have smuggled gold in a biriyani vessel. We demand Vijayan to resign and a probe be ordered under the monitoring of a court. There were lots of agencies which probed this and at the end it was a settlement between the BJP and the CPI-M. Even the family members of Vijayan are named. This is really shameless and he should quit," said Sudhakaran and added that the Congress led UDF will meet soon to decide the future course of action.

Member of Parliament and DMK leader, TKS Elangovan has raked up a controversy stating that Hindi is the language of underdeveloped states and implementing that language in Tamil Nadu will make Tamil people `Shudras`. The MP on Monday said that Hindi is the native language in underdeveloped states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh. 

He also said that states like West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Punjab, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Gujarat do not have Hindi as their native tongue and added that these states were developed states. Elangovan also said, "Hindi will convert us to Shudras, will not do any good for us".

The DMK leader has allegedly used a casteist slur while attacking the Hindi language.

Arvind Kejriwal's Minister Satyendar Jain, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on charges of money laundering, has allegedly laundered over Rs 16 crore. Along with his family, two other Jain families are under the ED's scanner for being part of this extensive conspiracy.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have accused Satyendar Jain of using his family members, including his two daughters, to mislead the probe agencies.

According to the probe report, accessed by India Today TV, Satyendar Jain's wife and two daughters received crores in the garb of businesses from companies linked to Satyendar Jain.

With the aim of reducing the travel time between two cities, the Indian Railway is planning to introduce semi-high speed Vande Bharat trains in place of Shatabdi and intercity express on all prominent routes of the country including Mumbai -Pune and Mumbai -Ahmadabad. According to sources, initially 27 prominent intercity routes of the country were identified by railway to run Vande Bharat trains near future.

Confirming the devlopment, Ashwani Vaishnaw, minister of railways said, "Indian Railway will get two more trains in August 2022, after that every month four Vande Bharat trains will be produced at different rail coach factories of the country including Latur".

Nupur Sharma, BJP's suspended national spokesperson, will soon be served summons to appear before Mumbai police to record her statement for alleged objectionable remarks against Prophet Muhammad, said city police commissioner Sanjay Pandey on Monday. The Pydhonie police had registered an FIR on Saturday on a complaint by one Irfan Shaikh, the joint secretary of Raza Academy, a Muslim outfit.

Meanwhile, Delhi police on Monday said they were awaiting a response from Twitter in connection with a case based on a May 28 complaint by Sharma, alleging multiple death and other threats to her family since the controversy over her remarks on Prophet Muhammad.
