Unlike the Akali and Congress governments, Aam Aadmi Party has stood up to its promises made during elections and upheld the prestige of Sikhism by sending the accused in Guru Granth Sahib sacrilege case to jail. The above statement was delivered by Jarnail Singh, the AAP In-Charge of Punjab and Chandigarh.

"It was a sorry state of affairs in Punjab during the rule of Akali as well as under the Congress party's governments as none paid any heed to the progress of the state and its people. AAP on the other hand has a very clear policy to work with utmost sincerity and make the state prosper," said Jarnail Singh, a three time MLA from Delhi's Tilak Nagar constituency.

Around 4 lakh Indians gave up citizenship in past 3 years to settle abroad, reveals govt data

More than 3.9 lakh Indians have renounced their citizenship in the past three years, the government told the Parliament on Tuesday, with America emerging as the top choice among 103 countries where the emigrants settled.

More than 1.63 lakh Indians relinquished their citizenship in 2021 alone, according to the date tabled by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Of them, more than 78,000 took US citizenship, it added.

While 1.44 lakh Indians gave up their citizenship in 2019, the data showed, the numbers fell in 2020 to 85,256 in 2020, before rising again last year.

Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday laid out 'cooperation in running the House smoothly' as the farewell gift he wanted from all MPs.

With 41 leaders and ministers in attendance at the all-party meeting convened by Naidu, leaders assured him of their support. On a lighter note, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh proposed that a special post of "Chairman Emeritus" be created for Naidu, in view of his persistent efforts to improve the functioning of the House.

AIIMS to conduct research on 3,000-year old Sushruta's surgical method

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is going to conduct research on the first practice of surgery done by Maharishi Sushruta, the Father of Indian medicine and Father of Plastic surgery.

It is said to one of the oldest medical systems in Ayurveda. Experts estimate that the Sushruta Samhita text was written about 3,000 years ago, before 600 BC.

The Department of Plastic Surgery of AIIMS in Delhi is going to conduct a comparative study of the latest existing medical surgery and the oldest recorded surgery of Sushruta.
