5 months of AAP Govt in Punjab: After 'roast' by rivals, ministers boast about achievements

To mark the completion of five months in power, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday dished out the achievements of Punjab’s Bhagwant Mann government in what is being seen as an attempt to ward off criticism from the opposition that the ruling party is relying more on optics than any constructive work.

The party fielded five of its senior ministers— finance minister Harpal Cheema, agriculture and rural development minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal, health minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra, jails, mining and education minister Harjot Bains, and power and PWD minister Harbhajan Singh ETO— to list out the works done during the period.

Google to layoff employees, company warns workers 'There will be blood on streets'

Google CEO Sundar Pichai recently stated that the company has too many employees but not enough work. He also advised employees to work more efficiently and to concentrate on how to improve their products and assist customers. According to a Business Insider report, Google is now warning employees about layoffs.

According to the report, some of Google's top executives have warned employees to either show results or prepare for "blood on the streets." The managers basically implied that if employees do not improve their performance, they should brace themselves for layoffs. These executives also stated that whether or not layoffs will occur is entirely dependent on the next quarterly earnings report.

Made in India toys: Manufacturers scale up production capacity amid rise in demand; eyes global markets

Government policies such as increasing customs duties on imported toys and mandating BIS certification requirement for imports not only boosted domestic manufacturing but also helped the industry to explore global markets and enhance exports. The demand for toys based on Indian mythological characters, desi movie characters and superheroes such as Chota Bheem are on the rise as the domestic players break away from the dominance of China and some other countries, according to industry experts.

Now the 'made-in-India' toys have a very clear edge in the domestic markets and the manufacturers are scaling up their production capacity to meet the growing local as well as international demand.

Veer Savarkar vs Tipu Sultan Poster: 2 Held After Man Stabbed Amid Tension in Shivamogga, Section 144 Imposed

Tensions grip Karnataka’s Shivamogga after a man, identified as 20-year-old Prem Singh, was stabbed by unidentified men after communal clashes in the district. According to the police, two people have now been arrested for the stabbing and two more have been identified and the cops are closing in on them as well. The row erupted on Independence Day over a poster of Hindutva ideologue Veer Savarkar. Right-wing groups put up a poster of Veer Savarkar at the Ameer Ahmed Circle in Shivamogga on Monday to which another group objected as they wanted to install Tipu Sultan’s flex there. Pro-Hindu groups then launched a protest when efforts were made to remove the poster. Police had to resort to mild lathicharge to bring the situation under control and disperse the crowd.
