Cyrus Mistry car crash: Luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz issues first statement

Luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz India on Tuesday said it is cooperating with the authorities investigating the car crash that led to the death of former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry. Mistry (54) and his friend Jahangir Pandole were killed on Sunday afternoon when their Mercedes GLC 220d 4MATIC car hit a road divider in Palghar district of Maharashtra. Two other car occupants -- Anahita Pandole (55), who was at the wheel, and her husband Darius Pandole (60) -- suffered injuries and are admitted to a private hospital in Mumbai. Mistry was cremated on Tuesday. The last rites were performed in an electric crematorium at Worli in central Mumbai.

"As a responsible brand respecting customer privacy, our team is cooperating with the authorities where possible, and we will provide any clarifications to them directly as required," the automaker said in a statement.

Ravi Narain is being investigated in the NSE co-location scam and the alleged illegal phone tapping case in which former bourse head Chitra Ramakrishnan, former group operating officer Anand Subramanian, and former Mumbai police commissioner Sanjay Pandey have already been arrested.

In the report, there are four suggested routes. It is important to note that construction has already begun on the corridor, which will link the Botanical Garden station on the Blue and Magenta Line with Sector-142 station on the Aqua Metro Line.

The sector-142 station is one of the first six stations of the corridor connecting the Blue and Magenta lines’ Botanical Garden station, according to NMRC-affiliated sources. All 6 stations — Sector-136, 125, 93, 98, 91, and 94 — were now appearing. There was a suggestion to alter the corridor’s course during the discussion between the NMRC and DMRC officers. Experts claim that the proposed route will pass through residential areas while excluding the Noida Expressway. Additionally, there will be more stations along the new line.

Ex-Tata Sons Chairman's Funeral Today in Worli; Crash Survivors Shifted to Mumbai Hospital

The last rites of Cyrus Mistry, former chairman of Tata Sons who was killed in a car crash on Sunday, will be performed today in Mumbai. Cyrus Mistry’s funeral will be held at the Worli crematorium at 11 am.

Mistry was returning from Gujarat’s Udwada to Mumbai with three family friends — brothers Darius and Jehangir Pandole, and Darius’s wife Anahita Pandole when the accident took place.

According to the police, the car crashed into a divider at Surya River’s Charoti bridge on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway. Jehangir, 49, who was in the back seat of the Mercedes along with Mistry, too, died in the crash.
