Mumbai: Massive traffic congestion on Western Express Highway, commuters face harrowing time

Mumbai commuters started their week being stuck in traffic once again. The infamous Western Express Highway (WEH), which prominently connects the entire western suburban areas till Mira Road, was jam-packed almost the entire day. Other areas, including Andheri Subway, P D’Mello Road, Tulsi Pipe Road, Aarey Road, Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road, and Eastern Express Highway (EEH), also experienced slow traffic movement due to congestion.

Commuters took to social media to express their frustration about the traffic situation here on Monday. One of the users said, "You call it Monday, we call it weekly excess traffic on the WEH. We are not the same, bro. No matter how early you leave, you’ll arrive later than usual."

There is only one Bengal, says Abhishek Banerjee, threatens 'tea movement' in Delhi

There is no different Bengal, there is only one Bengal called West Bengal, said Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee in Jalpaiguri on Sunday, responding to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders’ demand for a “separate Bengal” for the past six months.

Moreover, Ananta Maharaj Rajbongshi, who has a major influence over Rajbongshi voters in North Bengal, said recently that the Home Ministry had told him that “there will be a division”.

According to experts, the comment in Jalpaiguri assumes political significance. The TMC is putting heavy emphasis on North Bengal after their bad performance in the Bengal elections in 2021 and is now targetting tea garden workers.
