Manish Sisodia's Aide Vijay Nair Nabbed By CBI In Excise Policy Case, First Arrest Made

Vijay Nair has been arrested by the CBI in an excise policy case. This marks the first arrest by the CBI in this case. He is the former CEO of the entertainment and event media company Only Much Louder. He has been raided by the ED as well. Sources said that he was one of the prime key conspirators in the excise policy case.

Earlier, the CBI on August 21 issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against eight private persons named as accused in the Delhi liquor policy scam case. This included businessman Vijay Nair who the probe agency said was missing during the raids it conducted on August 19.

Mumbai court to hear Navneet Rana's plea on September 30, NBW on hold until then

A special court in Mumbai, which specifically deals with cases related to members of Parliament (MP) and members of legislative assembly (MLAs), has granted relief to Amravati MP Navneet Rana and her father Harbhajan. The prosecution has told the court that the police would not execute the non-bailable warrant (NBW) till September 30.

This is with regards to her caste issue in which the second NBW was issued by the Shivdi Magistrate court seeking her presence to frame charges in the case.

SC Collegium recommends elevation of Bombay HC Chief Justice Dipankar Datta as Supreme Court judge

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended elevation of Chief Justice of Bombay High Court, Justice Dipankar Datta, as a judge of the apex court. According to a statement uploaded on the top court’s website, a meeting of the Collegium headed by Chief Justice Uday Umesh Lalit was held on Monday.

“The Supreme Court Collegium in its meeting held on September 26, 2022 has recommended elevation of Mr Justice Dipankar Datta, Chief Justice of Bombay High Court (PHC: Calcutta), as judge of the Supreme Court,” the statement said.

Tamil Nadu Tatkal Scam: Over 1.30 lakh fraudulent tickets sold by Bihar man, costs Rs 56 Crore to Railways

A massive Tatkal ticket booking scam was uncovered that reportedly costed the Indian Railways a whopping Rs 56 crores. At the center of it was a 27-year-old graduate in Tamil Nadu who made at least Rs 3 Lakhs a month, fraudulently selling tatkal tickets that are otherwise sold on the official Indian Railways website – IRCTC.

According to a probe by police, Sailesh Yadav – a 27-year-old from Danapur region of Bihar – allegedly purchased a domain name from the Godaddy website through which he sold Tatkal ticket booking websites to other agents. The Trichy Division RPF officials detained Sailesh and are currently digging deep into the nexus the accused was operating out of. They traced Sailesh using his IP address and his mobile phone number.
