Arvind Kejriwal to AAP workers, 'Be ready to go to jail for paths...'

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) gained popularity and acceptance among the masses through its "people-centric" and "work-centric" politics. He stated that the party workers should be ready "to go to jail for the paths we have chosen for the public good."

Addressing party leaders at the National Council meetings virtually, the AAP supremo also said he was "proud" of the five party leaders who are in jail in cases linked to the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam.

Indian Navy sheds colonial link in new epaulettes for officers

The Indian Navy on Friday unveiled the new design of senior officers’ epaulettes, a shoulder piece that signals rank, inspired by the seal of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, with the move reiterating the service’s resolve to shed the “mentality of slavery” and project the country’s “rich maritime heritage”.

The new epaulettes, to be worn by the navy chief, vice admirals and rear admirals from January 1, have five modifications over the previous ones.

Chhattisgarh CM allocates portfolios, keeps GAD, mineral resources

A fortnight after cabinet formation, Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday allocated portfolios to his 12 ministers but retained crucial mining, excise and public relations department with him. Chief minister will also hold the portfolios of Energy, commercial tax (excise), transport departments and others that’s not allotted to any other minister.

The home portfolio was allocated to one of his deputies Vijay Sharma along with Panchayat and rural development, technical education and employment, Science and Technology departments. Another deputy CM Arun Sao was given the charges of public works department, PhE, urban administration and law and legislative affairs departments.

PM Modi in Ayodhya today to inaugurate airport, redeveloped railway station, other projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, December 30, will visit the temple town of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh to inaugurate the Maharishi Valmiki international airport, the Ayodhya Dham railway station and several other development projects worth ₹15,000 crore about three weeks before the much-anticipated Pran Pratishtha (consecration ceremony) of Ram Lalla at the Ram temple on January 22.
