Already extinct in Delhi legislative assembly, Delhi's civic polls result threw another nightmare for the Congress. The grand old party could manage to win only nine out of 250 wards in the Delhi civic polls. The only solace for the party came in the form of Muslim voters, who had earlier deserted the Congress for the new entrant, Aam Aadmi Party, in several pockets of the national capital.

Out of nine Congress candidates who won as Municipal Councillors, seven are Muslims, mainly from the Delhi 2020 riots affected areas. In fact, the second biggest victory registered in MCD polls belongs to the Congress's Shagufta Chaudhary Zubair, who won by a margin of 15,193 votes in northeast Delhi's Chauhan Banger. 

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule in Lok Sabha slammed Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai over the border issue between Karnataka and Maharashtra and urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to speak up regarding it.

"For the past 10 days, a new issue has cropped up in Maharashtra. The Chief Minister of our neighbouring state, Karnataka has been speaking nonsense. Yesterday, people of Maharashtra wanted to go to the Karnataka border but they were thrashed," Sule said in the Lok Sabha.

The buzz of “parivartan” (change) about the Gujarat assembly elections that was reverberating in many places outside the state seems to have escaped the voters here, if exit polls are any indication. The BJP will win its seventh successive term in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state, they predicted on Monday.

A Republic TV-P MARQ survey has predicted 128-148 seats for the BJP.

Congress president Mallikarjun Karge on Monday (December 5) slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party and said it has gone mad as it fears the defeat in Gujarat Assembly elections. Kharge's scathing comments came after Congress candidate Kanti Kharadi from Danta Assembly constituency of Gujarat was allegedly attacked by BJP. Kharge also questioned Election Commission for not taking any action on the matter.

Himachal Pradesh has voted to upset many plans, if the exit polls, which don't always get it right, are anything to go by. According to the India Today-Axis My India exit polls, it is advantage Congress in the hill state, while the BJP, looking to make history with a record second consecutive term, is set for disappointment.
