The Army has to be future-ready as lessons can be learnt from the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said Sunday.

Speaking at the 75th Indian Army Day event at the Army Service Corps (ASC) Bengaluru, Singh said that in the coming days all major armed forces of the world will be boosting their security mechanism.

Rajnath also said India’s reputation has increased significantly in the international fora as was seen after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to leaders of Ukraine and Russia to ensure the safe evacuation of stranded Indian students.

The residents of Delhi have been warned about the drop in temperature in the coming week, despite the brief respite from the cold wave conditions in the national capital. It is expected that the minimum temperature in Delhi will drop to 3-5 degrees Celsius.

Delhi has reportedly recorded its third worst cold wave in the last 23 years, with the minimum temperature in the city dropping to as low as 1.9 degrees Celsius, with a thick blanket of fog enveloping the national capital.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), on Friday, flagged that US drugmaker Pfizer Inc and German partner BioNTech's updated Covid-19 shot could be linked to a type of brain stroke in older adults. However, the CDC continues to recommend that people stay up-to-date with Covid-19 vaccines, CNN reported. 

The findings were according to preliminary data analyzed by US health authorities, Reuters said.
